Circa 1950’s, this Vintage Head Vase was produced during the era by a variety of companies. This particular type of head vase of a demure, very Art Deco looking woman, was often referred to as a Glamour Girl Head Vase. She measures 6 ¼ inches tall and 4 ½ inches wide at the widest portion, which is the bottom. She is glazed in a wonderful neutral ivory color. Her upswept coifed hairdo is so very indicative of those styles worn by fashionable ladies during the Art Deco era, even visible when turned around. The painted detailing is gorgeous. She has a golden yellow colored flower on one side bordered in gold. She has prominent arched black eyebrows. Her eyes are closed, revealing wonderful black eyeliner with prominent eyelashes. Her nose is symmetric and exquisite. Her ruby red cheeks match her ruby red lips. BE SURE TO SEE ALL PHOTOS.
On the bottom of the Vintage head vase planter, is the top portion of her dress, which is also golden yellow colored with golden accents. On each ear, there are painted black tiny earrings. She truly lives up to her attributed name of Glamour Girl. She is so very feminine and coy looking, with her head turned slightly to the side.
Vintage head vases were originally produced to be given out by florists as a promotion. This very feminine and glamorous example of a vintage head vase planter is in absolutely mint condition, free of any damage whatsoever. Her paint is fully intact with no crazing whatsoever, paint loss or chipping. The inside is perfectly clean and it appears to have never been used as planter, but for display purposes.
