Circa 1930’s-40’s, this unusual vintage Bakelite and Lucite letter opener measures 7 ½ inches in length and 1 inch wide at its widest portion. It has a depth of just under ½ inch! Similar in appearance to vintage Bakelite and Lucite flatware, the Bakelite portion is a bright cherry red and this measures 3 ½ inches in length. The curved vintage Lucite portion extends the entire length of the letter opener, visible from the sides. The construction is amazing on this vintage desk accessory, so be sure to see all the photos. There are six chrome appearing nail heads on the top of each side of the Bakelite handle, extending into the inside of the letter opener. Held on its side you can see the construction of the vintage letter opener. It surely must be seen to be appreciated.
