Circa 1930's-40's, this Bakelite flatware set contains four bakelite forks and four knives. The color of this phenomenal vintage flatware set is a deep butterscotch with inlaid black silhouette figures.
What makes this Vintage Bakelite Flatware so unique and desirable, is that the Bakelite handles feature inlaid Silhouettes in black Bakelite of a Southern Belle woman on the forks and an Alfred Hitchcock-type butler man also in jet black, on the knives. These silhouettes are INLAID into the handles.
All the pieces of this extraordinary Bakelite Flatware set are in wonderful condition with no chips or cracks. The collars are tight and secure. All have darkened over time but are even more attractive in that they are now a dark butterscotch color.
Each fork of this Art Deco inspired Bakelite Flatware set measure 7 5/8" long. The knives are 9 1/8' long. The knives are marked Cardinal Stainless Steel. The forks are marked Stainless Steel. One of the forks has a slight scratch that is only 1/8" (SEE PHOTO) on the BACK. There is absolutely no corrosion and this Vintage Bakelite Set appears to have had no use. This rare set of Vintage Bakelite Flatware with Inlaid Black Silhouettes are clean and ready to use or display.
