A wonderful set of Vintage Bakelite Kitchenware Flatware, signed Cardinal, is presented. This vintage Bakelite dinnerware set of flatware is service for six, consisting of six forks and six knives and is in a rich butterscotch colored Bakelite. The knives on the Bakelite flatware set are marked CARDINAL.

This circa 1930’s-40’s Bakelite flatware set, with its classic and symmetric Art Deco design and style, as stated above, is a service for six with six forks and six knives. The length of the fork including the butterscotch Bakelite handle is 7 ¾ inches long. The knife, including the Bakelite handle, measures a tad over 9 ½ inches long. The Bakelite handle on the fork measures about 3 ½ inches long and the handle on the knife measures about 4 inches long. This unique set of Bakelite flatware appears as if it has never been used. The Bakelite handles on this vintage flatware have a striking and classic Art Deco design and are quite unusual. The butterscotch Bakelite handles measure ¾ of an inch wide at its widest portion towards the bottom, with a depth of almost ½ inch. There are deep vertical carvings down either side of the handles, culminating in a slightly flared bottom, with the center portion rounded at the bottom and slightly longer than the two side sections, rounded at the bottom, giving an almost scalloped appears the bottom of the bakelite handles on the utensils and as stated above, so classically Art Deco in motif. The color of this Bakelite flatware set, as noted above, is rich butterscotch Bakelite. The back of each knife is marked CARDINAL STAINLESS STEEL.

This fabulous and unique Art Deco inspired Bakelite flatware set will adorn any table. The handles on this vintage Bakelite flatware set test positively for Bakelite and the entire set is in absolutely pristine condition and free of any damage whatsoever, and appears to have never been used. The collars on each vintage kitchen utensil are tight and secure and the patina on the Bakelite is bright and shiny.
