Circa 1930’s-40’s, the stand for the Bakelite kitchenware fruit knives has a deep cream corn color base with swirls of lighter tones throughout. The top portion, a design resembling an Art Deco pedestal, is jet black Bakelite. There are brass extensions, through the Bakelite fruit knives fit and set into the Bakelite stand. The Bakelite stand measures 4 inches in height and the base measures 3 ¾ inches wide with a depth of 2 inches. There are six two toned Vintage Bakelite fruit knives. Each vintage knife measures 3 ¼ inches in length including the Bakelite handle. The predominant color of the Bakelite fruit knife is the same color as the base of the Bakelite stand, a deep cream corn color Bakelite. The bottom of the fruit knife is classic art deco, cut on the diagonal and is jet black Bakelite. BE SURE TO SEE ALL THE PHOTOS.

The back of each utensil it is hallmarked ROSTFREI, which literally means “rust free,” and indeed they are completely rust free!

Vintage Bakelite kitchenware flatware sets, desert sets and fruit knife sets, etc. hallmarked ROSTFREI, were manufactured in Germany in the 1930’s and 1940’s and are sought after by collectors today of Vintage Bakelite kitchenware and flatware.

This outstanding example of vintage Bakelite ROSTFREI kitchenware set is in pristine condition and appears to have never been used. It should be used and enjoyed today for serving fruit for which it was intended or other bite size eatables such as appetizers! This Bakelite set tests positive for bakelite.
