Circa 1940’s-50’s, this Lucite bangle measures 1 inch wide. The inside diameter is the standard 2 ½ inches. As noted above, the shape is saucer shape, with a thinner depth on one side of the vintage plastic bangle and a thicker depth of ½ inch on the other side. BE SURE TO SEE ALL THE PHOTOS. The color is a wonderful translucent soft light purple color, but when held up to the light, the coloration looks darker and lighter in different portions of the vintage bangle.
Lucite was first introduced to the marketplace by DuPont in 1937, and is the common name associated with an acrylic resin. In its original and basic form, Lucite is clear, but it was often tinted in a wide range of colors, such as with this fabulous Lucite bangle as a good example. Quite striking on its own, this Lucite vintage bangle will look elegant worn alone. The shape and coloration on this Lucite vintage bangle is unique and truly must be seen to be appreciated.
In mint condition without any damage at all, this fabulous example of a vintage Lucite bangle will look great with any outfit from sporty to vintage couture.
