Here is a beautiful 18K Yellow Gold sentimental ring Hallmark stamped for 1866 Birmingham, England. The size 7 ½ ring is in excellent condition and still may be worn. Cobalt Blue Enamel accents the bright yellow 18K sash and buckle design. The band is polished gold with decorative crenelated edges all the way around. These edges create a channel which holds a band of tightly woven dark brown hair. This is a very attractive ring with a warm patina and a touch of verdigris developed through almost a century and a half of gentle use.

The width of the band is 3.8 mm; the buckle at the top measures 5.5mm wide. The diameter of the inside of the circular ring is 6/16ths. The ring fits a size 7 ½ Finger. Sentimental jewelry has been popular for several centuries. In some instances the hair of a loved one beginning a new life in the New World or joining the Military might be kept close in order to remind a mother or father of their child.
