14K Rose Gold Victorian Era Round Locket with Diamond

You'll find a photo of the couple, who must have been the original owners of this gold locket, still inside. The 14K (tested) rose gold round locket is star set with an Old European Cut Diamond at its center. The sparkling white diamond has a few inclusions. The reverse side of the slender locket has ornate initials engraved: "TES". The "E" is slightly larger, indicating that it is probably for the last name.

Measurements: Diamond = .10ct Weight = 7.5 Grams 14K (tested) Diameter = 1 5/16" (33 mm)

There is some patina consistent with its age and a small "flea bite" or two, difficult to see.

The oval jump-ring will allow it to be worn on a medium weight chain.

The attractive couple in the photo are dressed in turn of the century fashion, the lady is turned out in Gay Nineties style with high collar, lace and her hair piled high under an over sized brim hat. The locket dates to circa 1890 to 1900, turn of the Century.

The locket snaps closed very snugly and required a slim blade to open, as do many pocket watches. A flat gold circle frame holds the photo in place.
