Toni Cavelti C.1980 18K Yellow Gold & Diamonds Hand Fabricated “Boxes” Ring

Toni Cavelti is the most well-known creative jewelry designer from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Presented here is one of his most famous original hand fabricated designs, “The Boxes Ring”. This model is the finest variation of this design which I have seen.

The 18K Yellow Gold ring is composed of ten small boxes, four have diamonds set in 18K White Gold Tiffany claw mounts within them. Six are six-sided closed boxes which are unadorned. The boxes are (almost) 1/4" cubes with a polished finish. The boxes are mounted in an artistically scattered cluster atop a split ring band.

This heavy gold ring weighs a whopping 11.7 Grams. It is made by the acknowledged “Best Jeweler in Vancouver”. The super famous jewelry firm Henry Birks & Sons, BIRKS, has purchased Toni Cavelti’s designs a few years ago and are now the sole distributors of his designs. The ring offered here was actually fabricated by Mr. Cavelti. I proudly present this signed original art jewelry item made by this world class, award-winning Master Goldsmith circa the early 1980's.

The ring is a size 7 1/2 and may be enlarged or made smaller to fit most size fingers. The four diamonds are each round brilliant cut. They have a combined total weight of approximately .75 carat (2 at .19ct and 2 at .185ct). The diamonds are near perfect with VS1 and VVS clarity and a very white, near colorless “G” color.

The ring is in excellent condition; it seats itself well on a woman’s hand and is very comfortable to wear. This is an outstanding design and marvelously constructed piece of fine jewelry which will inspire many complimentary comments wherever it is worn. This ring can be considered an investment piece as Toni Cavelti jewelry is much in demand and there is a very limited number of pieces and their occurrence in the marketplace is dwindling.
