This large 15 K (tested) regal looking, antique, circa 1870's, deeply repoussed English Brooch or Pendant is also a Locket made to hold a lock of a loved one's hair or a photo, a lovely sentimental or memorial pin in a large size.

The eight pointed star is center set with a demi seed pearl. The brooch is festooned with tiny, delicate appliquéd twisted & beaded wire decoration and gold beaded accents. It's locket back has a snugly fitted frame holding the original glass lens - so often missing in these antique lockets. The reserve under the glass is clean and large. It could even hold a wedding band or other memento.

This brooch is in remarkably good condition, showing only some minor wear, a tiny dent and rubbing consistent with its age. Please see the photographs for close up views of this minimal damage. The pin-stem and "C" clasp closure are strong and this brooch can be worn and enjoyed for another hundred years or more.

Please, look at all of the photos which are "worth a thousand words" of description. A small pocket watch could be hung from the hook at the bottom back. A jump ring can easily be added to the fixed ring at the top back, for wearing as a pendant.

Measuring 1-7/8 inches wide by 1-5/ 16 inches high, the piece weighs 13.8 Grams. All of the metal in this brooch has been acid tested with a field assay kit, and has been found to be 15K Yellow Gold.
