Rare Art Nouveau Etienne Gilles Signed Tile of the Madonna 1890 -1914

This rare and beautiful tile of the Madonna was actually enamelled and hand fired in a kiln at one point to produce these vast colors. The condition is excellent. This piece was presumably made,as it bares her signature, by a French artist in the region of Nancy France or Brussels named Etienne Gilles, who was participating in the organic and spiritual movement of Art Nouveau. A lot of the time these artists were not known for their work and their main work was handicrafts. The fragile material this is made of makes these items very rare . . The tile is 14 x 10 inches.
