Ethiopian protective scrolls were traditionally carried and hung for prayer. This scroll is early 20th century (70+years old) and measures 101/2 inches (26.7cm) wide and 67 inches (170 cm) length. It consists of 4 painted picture panels interrupted by text panels. The material is animal skin/leather which is approximately 1/16" thick.
