In museum quality condition,this lovely brooch dates to the Victorian period. In the center a genuine 5 pt. diamond is set within a star setting adding more prominence to the diamond.

This brooch has a unique blending of shapes, textures and design that was quite common in jewelry design for this period, e.g the round center disc with the wrap around rope design.

The outer edges have a striking resemblance in shape to the trailing leaves

The brooch measures 1 3/4 inches East to West. Stamped 15ct on the back. Original pin has been upated. This is the original "C" closure. Added security feature is the safety chain on the back--also original. There are some dents on the back. Weighs 4 grams.

This brooch would look beautiful with contemporary jewels.
