This little snake must think it descends from royalty, as it proudly wears a star sapphire crown atop its little head--definitely a snake with a lot of charisma and charm. Unique and natural characteristic of the star sapphire is the star in the center that moves across the surface of the stone. Stone is set in gold bezel setting.
One of the things that snakes symbolize is rebirth--throwing away the past and continuing to go forward--as they shed their old skin as the new one emerges. The Greek God of Medicine, Aesculapius, observed a snake healing another snake with herbs and also observed how the shedding of their skin was a symbol of rejuvenation. That is why the medical professional today has the staff with the snake coiled around it, because of its historical representation.
With meticulous attention to detail, the snake wraps around the finger and every part of the snake's features stands out because it is very 3-D in design.
The diamond shaped pattern of the "skin" is deeply embedded and given more prominence with the oxidization. The bottom of the shank has a smooth high polish base.
The gems are genuine and measure: star sapphire 5mm, 2 -1mm rubies.
Measuring from the center of the head it is 7mm wide and tapers to 5mm at the bottom of the shank.
Stamped sterling and 10kt. Ring size 5 1/2 and resized free of charge. Weighs 4.30 grams.
