Beautiful hand painted Antique Dresden Statue with three cherubs with a goat. There is a makers mark on the back and we believe this mark was used in 1901 by Carl Thieme, Saxony Porcelain Factory, Potschappel, Saxony, Germany. It is an intertwined S & P. Carl Thieme Porcelain Factory was an outstanding manufacturer of fine porcelain similar to Meissen. Carl Thieme was originally a famous artist at Meissen who later started his own factory & obtained court patronage. He also used the famous hard paste porcelain and the secret Meissen formulas.This piece of art is in excellent shape with great colors, with one exception - the cherub on the goats back appears to have a finger that was glued back on at some time. The detail in this piece is phenomenal from the cherubs cute little faces to the fine details on the goat, one of the cherubs appears to be feeding the goat, another riding on its back with a third one trying to get a drink of milk from one of the goats udders. This is a size-able piece measuring 15 1/2" X 10" in depth X approximately 14 1/4" tall. If you are looking for a statement piece this is the one.
