Antique Gold Gilt and Gesso Picture Frame with unusual stenciled bars with stars around the inner border. All original with no visible repairs or paint touch ups, this one is a beauty! On the reverse is the original frame makers label which states Slee Brothers 298 Main Street (corner Liberty) Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Photographers and Dealers in Photographic Stock, Frames, Cords, Tassels, Brackets, Photographic Albums, Stereoscopic Instruments and Views, Chromo Lithographs, Engravings, & c. Frames and Carved Work of all kinds made to order W.P. Slee G.M. Slee. Some chipping of gesso at the outer corners, some thin lines of gesso around the inner border fine beading, some staining but in general this is in nice shape. Measurements are 25.50 by 28.25 inches overall, 17.38 by 20.38 inches sight, 18.50 by 21.50 inches art opening (rabbet) in back. Frame is 3 inches thick.
