A very nice, high quality Gebruder Heubach Smiling Character doll. She has been cherished and well cared for. She is 17" tall. The fine dolly is very fortunate to have her original blond wig, kid leather shoes, socks, and possibly original clothing. She is mold number 9355, with the Dolly Dimple face. Her history is mentioned by Jan Foulke in an informative magazine article, "Gebruder Heubach Dolls." Our cutie pie features a lovely clean complexion with sleeping brown eyes and of course her charming dimples. She has no bisque damage-no hairlines, cracks, repairs. Her pale blond wig is original-as well as her better quality riveted kid leather body. The body is as easy to pose as the jointed composition body and has beautifully molded composition lower legs. Body is in overall excellent condition! She can sit or stand. Her antique clothing consists of: fancy white lace pinafore, beautiful antique straw bonnet, simple cranberry/taupe cotton plaid dress, beautiful white full petticoat, original cotton socks, and original quite worn out kid leather shoes. Please read a little about her history: Heubach offered this doll in the Marshall Field catalog beginning in 1914. Price? 13.50 per dozen! She is marked with the square Heubach mark, Germany, and the mold number 9355 at the top of her head. The doll is pictured in the article below. These dolls were offered to consumers with only shoes and socks to be dressed at home. Quite a treasure whose all original state adds to her value. Of course, your satisfaction is guaranteed at Emmie's.
