Victorian Sterling Enamel Butterfly

There is a lot of interest in figural jewelry. There are many people who avidly collect butterflies - mostly from Norway. This is an early American made piece. It is much larger than the usual butterfly. It is 2 5/8" by 1 1/4". It weighs an unbelievable 20.6 grams. The enameling is in pristine condition and the pin is secure with a safety pin safety - as was the fashion.
