Victorian 18K Gold Garnet and Enamel Brooch

This is the quintessential Victorian Brooch. It is 18K gold with wonderful enameling and silver around the 11 garnets and tassels to boot! Just look at the enameling in high power - there are white flowers scattered around. There is detail all over and the ends of the tassels are tiny seed pearls. Yes, there is some loss of enameling - but it is over 100 years old and was most surely worn - how could you help yourself but to wear it. The brooch is 1 3/4" by 2 1/2" and weighs 8.2 grams. Again this is a special piece from a local Litchfield, CT estate that the owner has kept safe over the years. It needs to be appreciated by a true lover of Period jewelry.
