A Sterling 1898 Wax Seal Stamp shaped like a balloon with an etched Amethyst stone (could be colored glass or stone) with an etched EYE & an EAR and below that in French ET SE TAIRE which means To Be Silent. Has the London England Sterling hallmarks for 1898, makers mark TJ in oval for Thomas Johnson and on the edge BEE 1898 also what appears to be BRIGG. In very good condition, there are 1 or 2 tiny dents near curve at top, the seal part has some wear by the lettering. A unique & interesting piece. Measures just under 2 inches high, the seal is about 5/8 by 9/16 of inch, the top 1 1/4 inches in diameter
