AT AUCTION 19C Royal Doulton Pinched Waist Pitcher

Late 1800s Royal Doulton Large Pitcher with pinched waist brown and gilt borders with roses, center is decorated with a tavern and a man with a lantern & other object in hand. Perhaps he is the town watchman or town crier. In very good condition, no chips or hairlines, very faint crazing and minor loss to some paint on the roses in back. A very impressive piece. English registry mark would date to 1885 but the use of Royal Doulton would date to at least 1891. The coronet crown appears to be an earlier form.

Dates from 1891 to 1901 Measures 7.75 inches high and from handle to other end 7.5 inches
