SOLD Birks 925 Silver and Cultured Pearls Brooch - signed.

A lovely old Birks silver brooch of curved openwork leaves and wire mounted cultured pearls. The brooch measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/8" with a safety catch pin and is marked on the back 'Birks 925' in a rectangular cartouche.

Birks is a Canadian company founded in Montreal by Henry Birks in 1879 and are the Official Jewelers of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

There is normal age related pitting on the silver mostly on the back of the brooch but the 5mm, 6mm and 8mm pearls are all in good condition. There may have been another pearl attached beside the top pearl at one time as there is a little bump of silver next to the wire on the back.

This elegant old brooch is in good condition.
