It's funny, I hate roses. I mean whenever a guy gave me roses in the past, that was it, we were over and done with. I hate roses, particularly red, pink and yellow ones. The dyed blue, apple greenish white and orange ones, I can stomach a little longer. And yet when I set down to create Rose Of Sharon, the one thing that struck me was how particularly lovely roses can be!

Another interesting tidbit: did you know that the Hibiscus is generally referred to as Rose Of Sharon in American English? It is apparently the Korean national flower and, get this, my national flower too, Malaysian that I am :) yipee! Makes this piece even more special now, I guess!

Vintage Teal Blue Enamel Roses take centerstage here, without question. These focals are flanked by a bounty of precious pretties including 6Ctw of Genuine Mystic London Blue Topaz Briolettes (such a delish sea green hue), cute Pink Amethyst Coins, lovely Carved Amazonite Roses, Prehnite Coins, luscious sprays of 925 Sterling Silver Leaves, some 925 Sterling Silver Circle Drops and Vintage White Enamel Chain Tassels.

Swarovski Crystals in Aquamarine AB2X, crowned with Oxidized Silver Bead Caps, make sporadic appearances over and under lustrous Fresh Water Coin Pearls. Creating added dimension are Vintage Lucite Lily Pads in Mint Green whilst swags of Rhinestone Chains up the bling quotient beyond belief!

Rose Of Sharon measures approximately 3.5" in drop and around 2.35" across, at her very widest. All wire used is Fine 999 Sterling Silver and her Shepherd's Hooks are 925 Sterling Silver.
