Fine silver (0.999) is a "noble" metal and will not tarnish easily.

Unlike most silver jewelry nowadays, made of sterling silver (.925 silver) which is an alloy of copper (.075%) and silver (.925%), this piece will remain bright and shiny for years. It is the copper in the sterling alloy that oxidizes.

Although pure silver is considered "soft", this piece has been sufficiently work hardened and carefully burnished and polished by hand and are as strong as 18 KT gold.
