Large pure silver and pure gold domed disk dangle earrings textured with a sea urchin shell pattern and patinated to bring out the unique texture.

24 Kt Gold sheet is bonded to these fine silver earrings using an ancient Korean technique called "Keum Boo". Gold is NOT plated but a thin sheet of pure gold is fused to the silver with heat. VERY DURABLE.

Diameter of silver disk is 1-1/2" (3.8 cm.) with an overall drop of 2-1/4" (5.7 cm.)

Fine silver (0.999) and 24 KT Gold are "noble" metals and will not tarnish easily.

In the case of fine silver, unlike most silver jewelry nowadays, made of sterling silver (.925 silver) which is an alloy of copper (.075%) and silver (.925%), this piece will remain bright and shiny for years. It is the copper in the sterling alloy that oxidizes.

Although pure silver is considered "soft", this piece has been sufficiently work hardened and carefully burnished and polished by hand and are as strong as 18 KT gold.
