Spectacular Old Taxco Sterling Figure Brooch Pendant In Royal Headdress

A spectacular sterling silver figural piece from Taxco featuring an elaborate royal headdress of fine cutwork silver surrounding a highly dimensional maiden's mask which is molded in faux green onyx. This hauntingly beautiful, old piece can be worn either as a pendant or brooch since it is fitted for both on the reverse side.

It measures just a hair over 3 inches in total length by 1.5 inches wide and is marked "PVB" surrounded by "Taxco", "Mexico" and "925".

We found scarce information for this mark other than in Bille Hougart's book entitled The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks where it is recorded as observed on work bearing the early Eagle 1 mark.
