Many Items Currently Reduced to Make Way for New Items!
This square, footed salver or tray is one of the most beautiful silverplated examples we have had in quite some time, far more lovely than our camera will allow us to show you. Its size is pleasing as well with the diameter measuring an ample 15 inches and the flat surface portion 11 inches. There is intricate chasing throughout all but the 3 inch spot in the center where a monogram may yet be added.
The 2 1/4 inch sides rise and curve to a 3/4 inch rim which is deeply embossed with scrolls and grapes. The embossing is further carried to the corner feet which add 1 1/2 inches to the tray's height. This weighty, vintage tray is marked "WEBSTER WILCOX" followed by "ONEIDA" and "U.S.A." on the underside.
Condition is excellent with the unblemished, plated surface showing a very nice, softly aged patina. Kindly ignore the dark spots shown in our photos which are simply lighting reflections captured by our camera. Please click on the photo to see additional, enlarged views.
