Elsmore Forster Mulberry Transferware Simla Plate Circa 1850

A fine mulberry transferware plate in the Simla pattern made by the English firm of Elsmore Forster & Company during the mid 19th century. This nice old Victorian piece bears both impressed and printed marks for Elsmore Forster and measures 9.75 inches in diameter.

It shows a few very minor condition flaws attesting to age in the form of an old, one-half inch tight hairline showing solely on the underside and a couple of very tiny, wee glaze flakes where a wall hanger at one time rubbed along the rim. Additionally, there are faint, light utensil marks in the center field visible from an angle.
