This is a beautiful set in silvertone, set with a bird motif that represents the "Distelfink." The tie clip measures 1-1/8" x 7/8" and the cuff links are 7/8" across. There is a paper glued to the inside of the lid of the box (original box) that reads in part: "Of all the various Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Symbols, the Distelfink is the one most often seen. It is the Bird of Happiness -- always near to bring good fortune." This set apparently was given out by the Lancaster Automobile Club as a memento. The tie clip is marked Pat. 2669761, which dates it at 1954. The set is in excellent condition.
