French galvanized zinc pitcher with marbled decoration – cobalt blue veins painted over a soft grey-white ground, c.1900. Early, paint-decorated zinc jugs, such as this one, are hard to come by as most were left unadorned. This one is visually pleasing with its nicely worn painted surface that has mellowed over the years. It comes in excellent condition and is a fine decorative piece. There are no holes or repairs. It measures 14” in height to the spout tip.
