19th century English “Severn Valley Dairy” trade sign. This beautiful hand-painted wooden sign is both a fascinating piece of rural history, and with its triangular-shaped form and bold eye-catching color scheme, a work of art. It’s all original and no doubt a customized sign produced by a professional signmaker. It has the hallmarks of a quality made sign and is constructed from two heavy wooden planks with the “Severn Valley Dairy” lettering wrapped around a raised border. The center is recessed and both the outer and inner borders are nicely framed in a black, rounded-edge wooden frame that gives the sign a 2-dimensional effect. The paint is original and the condition simply superb! It measures 33” in height and each side measures 38”.
