19th century Welsh butter stamp of semi-eliptical form. Carved from a single piece of wood with the face slightly curving, it features crisp carvings of stylized plants and leaves including fern leaves. This is a fine, museum quality example carved from boxwood with an outstanding, richly-colored patina. It comes in superb condition. Measures 9” in length, 3 ¾” in width and 2 1/4” in height.
