19th century Swedish folk art painted trencher. This trencher is dugout from one piece of wood and retains its fabulous original “ink-blue” painted exterior surface with its mellow patina. Only traces of the original interior white paint remains. Hand-carved into the base of the trencher is a symbol and number. It comes in superb, structurally sound condition with typical signs of wear. There are no repairs or restoration. Measures: 24” x 8” x 3 1/2” high.
