Early 19th century, English game crown made from hand-forged iron with original pewter gray paint. The rack swivels around the hanging ring and the hooks are riveted into place. There are nine in total which includes the hook in the centre.
If you’re looking for an authentic period piece (and not a modern reproduction) from which to hang your antique copper pots and pans or country baskets, then this is a well suited piece. The condition is excellent and commensurate with the age and function of the piece and the paint is all original. It has chipped and blistered in places -which is what one would expect to see. There is surface rust that can be easily cleaned or simply left as is. There are no breaks, repairs or restoration.
