Early 20th century English galvanized zinc garden basket also known as a trug and often considered to be a classic and indispensable English gardener’s tool. These days, one way to introduce soothing texture into a room is through the use of zinc objects. The trug is formed from a single metal sheet that is cut and folded at the corners and the seams secured by rivets. It has a strong sturdy handle -note that it has over the years become slightly misshapen at the top- and feet that are also secured by rivets. Condition is very good and its nicely aged patina is a reflection of its useful past. Measures 19 ½” x 12”. Height is 14”. Depth is 5”.
