Antique metal crown / element with clover leaf and scallop-patterned rims, and a small cut-out pattern of clover in the frame, c.1900. This does have an ecclesiastical look to it with a pleasing outline and structure, and it sits well as a dramatic ornament on a mantelpiece, floor or white wall. It would also make a great bed canopy. It has a beautiful aged patina and comes in structurally sound condition. It measures 28” in diameter and 4 ½” in depth. The circumference is approximately 88”. It has 20 hooks that can be used to drape fabric on and these are located on the inside of the rim. Chains can be attached from the holes in the frame which are located in five places in groups of three. The piece is heavy.
