English copper weathervane in the form of a sprinting fox, c.1830 – 40. Made from sheet copper and weighted at the tail, it is a good strong silhouette with a wonderful weathered surface and pleasing sculptural form. It has rusted rivets and dent in the abdomen from a bullet shot. Measures 29 ¼” in length from head to tail. With the base, the maximum height is 18".
