Here is a beautiful Formal Dress & Coat Ensemble in Royal Blue Raw Silk by Edward Boutique, ca. 1980.

The long dress features thin looped shoulder straps with attached collar which is embellished with a 2” strip of clear & blue Glass Rhinestones, Beads and Faux Pearls. The dress is straight with maybe a slight A line skirt. The front darts extend from the bust line and curve outward toward the sides to about the hip length creating a slim waistline illusion. 13" kick pleat in the back. There is a 13” back zipper. The dress is lined with black silk.

The matching full length coat has coordinating 3” embellishment at the cuffs. The coat is collarless so that when worn with the dress the dress’s collar shows. There are 3 hook and eye closures down the front. The coat is fully lined with white silk.

The measurements are:

Dress:

Length: Collar to Hem: 54”

Dress Top Hem: 47 ½”

Bust: Underarm to Underarm across Front: 18”

Waist across front: 17”

Hips: 9” below Waist: 21”

Length of Shoulder Straps: ~20” plus about 3” extra for alteration.

Coat:

Length: Nape to Hem: 52 ½”

Shoulder to Shoulder across Back: 15”

Bust: Underarm to Underarm across Front: 19”

Sleeve Length: 23” including 3” Cuff

This outfit is in very good vintage condition with no rips or tears. The outer portion of the right sleeve has some fading. It is slight but noticeable. There are also a couple of light spots which may come out in cleaning. The underarm area and inside bodice have some discoloration. It is inside the dress and so is not noticeable when worn. I also note a small area of fading on the left side. This one is not very noticeable. There is a 2” hem allowance for the dress. 1” hem allowance for the coat.
