Fan, circa 1880 - 1890, rosewood guards and sticks, hand held folding, American. This large Victorian fan spans 26" when open. The guards are 13 1/2" and the 14 sticks are 4 1/2". There is a portion of one stick missing and it needs to be reattached to the the rib. The fan is double mount, verso is not decorated. The front leaf has a very appealing scene printed on fabric. The colors are excellent and not faded. The mount edge needs reattaching at the top. The head has a metal rivet, bone pivot and brass ring. See photos.
