Hand bag or purse, American, hand sewn silk and linen fabrics, purse is 7" wide and 5 1/2" in length. The silk exterior is a soft pale pink with hand stitched Herringbone pattern. The interior is pink linen with white decorative trim. See photos. Circa 1900 - 1908. The Art Nouveau frame is cast metal, gilted. It is marked Mandalian Mfg. Co. USA. They were located on Elm St. in North Attleboro, Mass. The design on the frame is connecting single flowers across the entire frame and side on both the front and back. The closure is cast, it is a center flower, which is pushed to open/close. The opening hinges are arm extensions fastened to the side of the frame and are swing riveted. At each corner of the frame on the front side is a bezel set coral stone closely matching the silk color of the purse. This purse is clean with no soiling or dirt spots. Slight wear to the fabric at the top of the frame. See photo.
