Antique Copper or Brass Kettle, Cooking Pail or pot, circa 1860, 10" tall, 16" diameter, 18" tall with original bale handle extended. Pot has had not much use, the bottom is not burnt from use, a few minor dents. Pot has original pig tail iron handle. These large kettles are very difficult to find in this condition. They originally hung from an iron crane in a kitchen's open hearth fire place. They were positioned over the burning wood, being domed on the bottom the heat radiated up the pot. Mo maker's mark.
