Antique Meisselbach raised pillar skeleton fly fishing reel. Solid brass reel with 90% of the original silver plating. Made in Newark, New Jersey. the Featherlight No. 270 has patent date of Jan. 14, 1896. Strong On/OFF click. Reel size is 2 7/8" diameter pillar to pillar, spool is 3/4" wide, the unaltered reel foot is 2 3/8" long. The frame and spool are not bent. The reel was cleaned, hand polished, lacquered and oiled. A nice early reel in original condition. See item #8454 for another Meisselbach, No. 270. This reel comes with a genuine leather, Made in the USA, zippered reel case. See photos.
