Tin molds for bread or steamed puddings, two different sizes, Vermont Primitive, large ovoid mold is 10" long 7 5/8" across, 5 1/8" to dome top, smaller mold is 7 1/2" long by 5 5/8" wide, 4" to top of dome lid. The large one is not commonly seen. Both molds are two piece, made of tin, with top and bottom wire bale handles to assist in separating. Tin edges are folded over and flat. The domed lids are ribbed. These molds were designed for puddings or breads. Circa 1900. Tin Ware generally did not survive, they simply rusted away. These pieces are in excellent condition. The cooks of this period were delighted to have lighter kitchenware to replace the heavy iron and pottery used prior to tinware. The large mold was originally japanned black, and still retains some of it. See photos. Priced as a pair, email if you only want one. We have many tinware kitchen items for sale on our site. See photo of grouping. To purchase with MC or VISA please call Drury House Antiques, 802-824-4395 EST
