Antique mourning ring, mid Victorian, circa 1870, black enamel and seed pearls, size 4 3/4". The head is 1/2" by 5/8" opaque black enamel fired to a gloss set on 18 carat gold. Seed pearls are inlaid in the design of a flower. Back is closed. Shoulder design of the ring band is split. See photos. This is a style, the term does not mean it is damaged or repaired.
