Nippon serving dish, hexagon shape, 6 1/4"in diameter, 7 1/8" handle to handle, height is 1 1/2". Made prior to 1921, backstamp is blue M in wreath, #47. See photos. The porcelain is white with hand paint decoration. There is high relief gold leaf outlining and beading of flowers and borders. The 3/8" diaper is also gold leaf and beading. Molded open handles on either side. Some gold loss on handles from handling through the years. The flowers in the basin of the serving dish are hand painted. There is one in the center and a ring of interconnecting leaves and flowers on the interior sides of the dish. No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
