Antique Hat pin, two different hatpins, both 9" long, turn of the century woman's accessory. One is a wood figural, 1 1/4" by 1/2". The natural wood is carved, has a brass capping atop the head is drilled to accommodate insertion of the steel shaft. The shaft is straight. The second hat pin is a black glass bead head with wood tear drop marbleized body. The head is 1 5/8". It could be a Morris and Yeomans standard black glass bead enhanced with the patterned wood. The shaft is black finish tempered steel; it is straight. The head is attached to the 7" shaft with a fancy brass cup. These are old hatpins, probably more of a home craft standard, considered affordable for the working class in this era. Not everyone had or could afford great jewelry store hat pins.
