Antique Nippon chocolate or cocoa set, a complete set, hand painted porcelain, cocoa pot with lid that has the trademark cutout always present in chocolate pots, four matching cups and saucers. Gold leaf highlighting on lid knob, rim of cups and cocoa pot and cup handles. Cocoa pot and saucers have Nippon crown backstamp and are marked made in Japan so the set is after 1921. The hand painted scene is a lakeside cottage with a swan in the water. The coloring in this set is soft muted hues of yellow, blue, rose and green extending the landscape to the backside of the porcelain pieces. Pit is 9" tall, saucer is 5" diameter and cups are 2 3/4" tall. No damage chips, cracks, or repairs. See photos.
