Antique trivet, cast iron, used to place hot pressing irons on, circa 1900. Trivet stand has three short legs, and rim around the edge to prevent hot iron from slipping. There are no makers marks, standard for trivets of this era. ACRN publication states trivets made from 1930's onward will have makers names, prior to 1930 unmarked. Butter or rice antique wood mold, hand hewed 9 1/8" long, handle is 3" long, 2 1/2" wide, 1" thick, stylized fish incised in the mold, excellent detail. Fish mold is 3 7/8" by 1 1/2".
