Antique doorstop, The Woodsman door stop, cast iron made in England, circa 1900. Shown in Bertoia book. Door stop is 15" tall and 9" at the widest. The smooth section of the base varies in height from 1 1/4" to 1 1/8". The picture in the book does not show the tree top, so that accounts for the height difference. Doorstop, antique American door stop, cast iron Black Cat, turn of the century. This particular door stop is shown in Bertoia's book as "Kitten." It is marked with the number "37" on the back. The book states it could be attributed to Hubley or National. Door stop measures at the base 6" across and 1 7/8" deep, height is 8" to the tip of the kitten's ear, 3 3/4" at the widest part of the body. Door stop, made by NuArt NYC and is marked on the base. The doorstop is a full figure, a finely detailed German Shepherd. There are less full figured doorstops than the usual one-sided versions. No damage or repair. It was lightly cleaned and a good coat of metal wax applied. Height is 7" to the tip of the ear, base is 4 1/4" by 2 1/8". There is green felt covering the base underside.
