Happy Indiana Glass Collecting!
This is a blue carnival glass toothpick holder made by St Clair in 1972. This is marked "Glass Festival 1972 Elwood Ind." These were made to commemorate the Glass Festival in Elwood, Ind. in 1972. These were made by St Clair Glass.
This measures about 2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across the bottom. The base glass is a deep, dark, true cobalt blue. The carnival colors are vivid and heavily applied. There is no damage or wear.
Lettered pieces in carnival glass have always gone up in value. The small advertising plates and commemorative pieces of the early 1900's are now valued at thousands of dollars each. This too will one day be worth a bunch. This would be a wonderful addition to any St Clair or carnival glass collection.
